A Very Merry Pink Holiday Banquet

.

.

With gorgeous blush hues and vintage inspired bottle brush trees, this holiday banquet exudes soft elegance. Designed by Traci Tessone, Whimsy boutique owner, this holiday banquet was styled to impress.

.

.

.

The soft blush color palette is carried through in every aspect of the design. When you host a get together of any type, creating a cohesive theme allows the party to feel put together and comfortable.

.

Styling tip: a cohesive color palette

Notice the slightly different shades of pink on the flowers, hat box, table cloth, and menu design. Using slightly different shades of the same color creates depth and continuity without falling flat. Try choosing a color and intermixing slightly lighter and darker variations!

.

Styling tip: add different textures

Mixing different textures throughout the design creates interest. The bottle brush tree's harsh texture is paired with the soft floral arrangement and glass decor piece to offer balance. Don't get caught in the trap of trying to match everything, unexpected details really make a statement!

.

Another fun and surprising texture design element are the pine cones in the floral arrangement. Adding an on-theme item to your floral arrangements is so unique and the perfect way to tie Christmas design into the pink floral arrangements. Find our Holiday Vase Fillers with adorned pine cones HERE to add some texture to your design.

.

Styling tip: create a menu

While a menu is not necessary, it dresses up the table and gives the party a more elegant feel. Traci even adorned each menu with a small ornament and gift tag. It's a small thoughtful gesture that makes a big statement to the guests at your party. Lay the menu across each plate and try adding something a little extra to each menu to really wow your guests.

Styling tip: creating seating placecards

Offering a seating arrangement for your guests gives the party a formal feel. Most of your guests presumably do not attend many parties that require a seating arrangement. Make them feel classy and noticed by creating a seating chart that will enhance conversation and take the guesswork out of where to sit. You can have the seating cards at each place setting or have the guests take their seat card from a small entry way table.

.

Traci had the seating cards perfectly placed a top an ornament. Notice how the seating cards match the theme of the menus. It's these little touches that really take the banquet design to the next level. Find a little trinket to pair with your seating cards - just be sure it is easily tied with the theme! Also, no matter how small or large your party is, you can always add seating cards for a special touch!

.

Styling tip: make a statement with your gift wrapping

Wrapping presents may seem like a simple task, but it's not always easy to get that simple elegant look. Most wrapping paper has loud graphics and too many words. Try looking for wrapping paper that matches the theme of the party, but has a simple design. The polka dots on this wrapping paper is a timeless pattern that stays on-theme.

.

Traci weaves in her the Christmas theme by adding mini bottle brush trees and mini ornaments to the finishing touches. Because the adornments already make a statement, she opted for using twine in place of ribbon. With the patterned wrapping paper and attached adornments, ribbon would have been too overpowering. Using the twine softened the finishing touches just right!

.

You can use the presents to place around the room as decorations by wrapping empty boxes or use them as decorations until the gifts need to be passed out! Next time you are at the store, look for muted or subtle wrapping paper with simple or no patterns, twine in place of ribbon, and a small ornament {find some Whimsy style ornaments HERE and HERE for your gift wrapping} to begin wrapping like a pro. We promise you, your guests will be wowed!

.

.

Vintage elegance is the signature Whimsy style. Using bottle brush trees {find Whimsy's bottle brush trees in a set of 6 HERE} and vintage inspired ornaments, hat boxes and vases, this party's soft vintage style is simply beautiful - not overpowering. You don't have to display the theme in over the top loud banners and posters, your guests will understand the theme through soft and thoughtful touches. The purpose of any party you host should be to serve and celebrate! Help your guests feel important and comfortable with these simple styling tips!

    Hi Wendy,

The menu cards we purchased off an Etsy seller and a local printing company created a similar design on our menus for us! Thank you for stopping by and reading, we appreciate it!
