Barn Wedding

.

.

Happy Wednesday! We hope you have been following along our six week wedding design inspiration series. If you just dropped in, check out our Modern Elegance Wedding Design and our Rustic Elegance Wedding Design inspiration posts. Traci, Whimsy boutique owner, has designed some gorgeous weddings over the years, and her style is remarkable!

.

We have been sharing some show stopping weddings here on Wednesdays with Whimsy. Our goal is to give you all the inspiration you need to start rocking your wedding planning. Don't waste energy trying to go it alone. Come follow along with us and find a wedding design that fits your style!

Barn Wedding Design

.

.

Traci traveled to the state of Nebraska with a 16 foot moving truck FULL with furniture, decor, lighting, and more to decorate this couple's barn wedding! The barn was located in a very rural area and came with breathtaking views.

.

.

Traci brought the mantel, mirror and chandelier (pictured above) which made the perfect backdrop for the head table.

Guest Tables

.

One of our favorite aspects about the design of this wedding are the long tables. Instead of opting for traditional 10-12 person round tables, Traci decided on long banquet-style tables. This style creates a romantic and dramatic look, the space worked best with this layout, and the guests were so much more conversational. If you have the option (and desire) to have long banquet-style tables, we say go for it! Weddings are about people coming together for the celebration, and sequestering them off into tiny groups makes it difficult for people to connect.

.

Each guest table hosted various vintage bottles and silver pieces. Traci used a variety of white and blush colored flowers.

.

.

She made the table numbers from vintage pictures.

.

We just love these wooden boxes for some of the floral arrangements. It gives such a rustic feel and offers a contrasting texture to vintage bottles and silver pieces. Try mixing textures and finishes for the floral arrangements - it offers depth and interest to your tablescapes!

Head Table

.

.

The head table hosted all the bridal party bouquets for the floral arrangements. The bride and groom chairs had sweet little chalkboard signs tied with a burlap ribbon.

.

.

Outdoors

.

The couple had a beautiful day for the wedding, and the views outside of the barn were stunning. Traci set up a variety of seating and gathering places outside so the guests could enjoy the day and the views. If you have outdoor space and a gorgeous day, try setting up comfortable areas outside for your guests to gather. It creates an inviting and intimate venue!

Sweet Table and Cake

.

Their cake was beautifully simple and had one fresh peony! So gorgeous! Sometimes with all the decor, floral arrangements and tablescapes, a simple cake is the perfect touch! Traci also brought this beautiful hutch and table to host the sweets, candy, and of course, the cake.

.

Sweet and Personal Touches

.

The bride created many little touches on her own and incorporated them into the wedding.

.

The bride made these cute books for the kids! If you are inviting children to your wedding, it is always so sweet if you offer them a little gift bag or busy bag. It makes them feel special and keeps their little hands busy!

.

.

.

The bride a groom created special cocktails for the night, and it's always fun to see their favorite drink and share in that with them too!

.

.

.

Traci created these escort cards for the guests with a variety of vintage and handmade pieces!

.
.
.

There was a fun photo booth for guests to leave pictures for the bride and groom!

.

.
.

A few more sweet details to dress up the barn!

.

.

Yes, Traci hauled all of that to Nebraska from Illinois! We think it was worth it! The barn was empty and a little rough around the edges until Traci and her team showed up. Traci made her vision and design come to life. She created something empty and made it feel homey and welcoming! Adding furniture pieces around the room and incorporating them into the design really made the difference.

.

.

Did you fall in love with this barn themed wedding? Because we did! Just because your wedding venue is a barn does not mean it can't be elegant. Choose designs that compliment your theme, but create an elegant feel!

.

We are looking forward to sharing a few more wedding design inspiration over the next couple weeks! Stay tuned to see what style we unveil next.

Did you enjoy the barn wedding design? We would love for you to share the below image on Pinterest!! Thanks!
